Firestarter! Can anyone go red? What aspects should I consider before dyeing my hair? How can I keep the colour vibrant? If I want to go really bright will I have to bleach as I'm dark?
I believe there is a RED for everyone, which shade of red would depend on your skin tone and your eye colour. Some people with quite pinkish skin tone won't often suit the very red/mahogany tones, a more coppery shade of red would be better here.
People with olive skin tones usually suit the bright red shades. Go for a consultation, your colourist will be able to help you decide on your best option.
Red tones will fade relatively quick compared to other shades, but colour stay shampoos such as Clynol Colour and Care Range are perfect for retaining colour for longer.
If it is a really vibrant shade of red you are looking for then often you will have to pre-lighten the hair, but alot of colour ranges and brands do offer the really bright reds and coppers these days, so sometimes this isn't necessary. |
